Terms and Conditions for Philosophical Services
 
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of philosophical services (“Services”) offered by Melvin Poh (“Personal Philosopher”), offered at www.melvinpoh.com. By engaging in our Services by making payment, you (“Client”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
 
2. Nature of Services
The Services provided are philosophical in nature and are intended for intellectual and personal exploration. They are not a substitute for professional psychological, medical, legal, or financial advice. 
 
3. Eligibility
Clients must be at least 18 years old to engage in the Services. By agreeing to these Terms, you confirm that you are of legal age and have the mental capacity to engage in philosophical counseling. The Personal Philosopher reserves the right to exercise the absolute discretion of rejecting or refusing offering service to any Client without reason.
 
4. Confidentiality
All information shared during sessions is confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties without the Client’s consent, except where required by law, such as in cases of imminent harm to self or others.
 
5. Session Scheduling and Cancellation
– Sessions are scheduled by mutual agreement. If the Personal Philosopher is unable to attend the session, a reschedule will be arranged.
– Client cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Changes to the appointment made less than 24 hours by the client before the scheduled session will still be subject to full session fee.
– Client no-shows will be charged the full session fee. 
 
6. Fees and Payment
– Payment is due at the time of booking or as otherwise agreed upon.
– All fees are non-refundable.
 
7. Limitations of Liability
– The Personal Philosopher is not liable for any decisions or outcomes resulting from the Client’s engagement in the Services.
– The Personal Philosopher is not responsible for any technical issues that may arise with virtual sessions.
– In no event shall the Personal Philosopher be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
 
8. Harassment and Safety Policies
– The Personal Philosopher maintains the absolute discretion and right to terminate any session if the Client displays inappropriate, disrespectful, or harassing behavior. Should this occur, the Client will still be charged the full session fee.
– Harassment, including but not limited to verbal abuse, personal attacks, inappropriate remarks, or any form of intimidation, will not be tolerated and will result in immediate termination of Services.
 
9. Right to Terminate
– The Personal Philosopher reserves the right to terminate any session if the Personal Philosopher feels uncomfortable or unsafe at any time. In such cases, the Client will be charged for the time spent but will not be obligated to pay for the unused portion of the session.
 
10. Intellectual Property
– All materials, ideas, and concepts shared during sessions remain the intellectual property of the Personal Philosopher and may not be reproduced or shared without explicit permission.
 
11. Changes to Terms
The Personal Philosopher reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Clients will be notified of any changes, and continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
