✴️Today is the first time I`ve truly rested in a long, long while...

Honestly, it`s been one of the hardest years I`ve had, and also one of the most clarifying. Running Empirics, business while personally philosophising for a generation of starved minds, creates a specific kind of pressure: you`re building infrastructure for knowledge while also creating the knowledge itself. Every day is a negotiation between the practical and the philosophical, between what scales and what matters; while the personal is sacrificed.

Some weeks I lose that negotiation badly. The business demands decisiveness, momentum, capital deployment. Philosophy demands the opposite: hesitation, revision, intellectual humility. Living in both worlds simultaneously means never fully inhabiting either.

But then something like this happens, DISCONNECTED reaches 7,000 copies sold, and I realise the tension was the point. The book wouldn`t exist if I`d chosen one path over the other. It exists because I refused to let entrepreneurship kill the part of me that needs to think slowly about fast-moving problems.

I`m deeply grateful to everyone who bought it, recommended it, argued with it in their book clubs, sent me messages about which parts landed and which didn`t. You made space for work that doesn`t fit neatly into "philosopher" or "CEO." You let me be both, even when I wasn`t sure I could pull it off.

This desk, this window, this moment, it`s where I remember why the struggle is worth it. Not every insight needs to become a company. Not every company needs to abandon insight. Sometimes the most valuable thing you can do is refuse to simplify yourself into a single role. So thank you for reading.
